April is National Donate Life Month: support organ, tissue & eye donation

Did you know that 2,269 people are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant in Wisconsin alone, and that 19 men, women or children die nationally each day waiting for a transplant? Transplantation depends on the generosity of our citizens, both nationally and at the local level. Mercy Medical Center – Oshkosh, along with the University of Wisconsin – Organ Procurement Organization, American Tissue Services Foundation (ATSF) and the Lion’s Eye Bank of WI, promote organ, tissue and eye donation on an ongoing basis.

In April, please pay tribute to our community’s organ donors and their families. It is our duty to reach out to thousands of individuals, families and healthcare providers in an effort to inspire people to help save and enhance lives through donation. For information, visit
